Hello. Thank you once again for joining us.
Next Screening:
The Beach Bum, Harmony Korine, 2019, 95m
7pm, 13 December at The Elizabeth Picture Theatre
Miami. The latest film from Harmony Korine (Gummo, Trash Humpers, Spring Breakers) is a stoner comedy about the adventures of Moondog (Matthew McConaughey) a pothead poet made homeless by his family in an attempt to finally force him to finish a new work. Resisting his obligations, Moondog encounters the addled underbelly of Florida and its denizens. With Snoop Dogg, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill and Isla Fischer.
The Beach Bum is many things. Always a comedy. A semi-autobiographical mea culpa from Korine and his own dissipation. Sometimes a study in white male privilege (see the previous sentence.) And an odd lysergic film that is as committed to the film’s neon trash cinematography and post-Malick editing patterns as any of the above. A Florida Keys pastoral.

On Totes
Our black totes are in stock. If you joined us in the first week, or would like to purchase one for $30, please contact us—via email or social media—let us know which version and we’ll bring one in for you. All are nice solid AS Colour ‘Carrie’ totes capable of carrying 20-30 kensington pride mangos from the market.
However! We do have two variants that have yet to be delivered if you want to hold out. One in scarlet and one in petrol. (We had held off, hoping to release all five versions at the same time, but it’s our last screening and thought people should have the option to choose.) The floral animist art is by Márcio Matos who also did our logo and whose work we kinda love.
Thank you. We hope to catch you tonight with Harmony Korine’s The Beach Bum, a Florida pastoral and/or stoner comedy. This will be our last screening of the year, but we’ll back in early 2023 and we’re sure we’ll be in contact before then.
Thanks again for a wonderful year.
